The Chicago Juneteenth Project Scholarship

The Chicago Juneteenth Project is a 501(c)(3) organization created to not only co-organize the Juneteenth parade, but to extend the spirit of the event beyond just a single day of community engagement. The mission of The Chicago Juneteenth Project is to deliver programs and resources throughout the year that support technology enablement, educational advancement, life skills, and wellness to residents of Chicago's West Side, with emphasis on the North Lawndale and East Garfield Park neighborhoods.

2024 Catherine Turner Memorial Scholarship

Catherine Turner was a dedicated resident of the North Lawndale community for over 60 years. She was staunchly committed to service, a fervent leader in business and community alike, and a firm believer in the power of education. The Chicago Juneteenth Project is proud to emulate the selfless commitment of people like her in the programs we deliver, and we are elated to promote our educational advancement initiative with a scholarship named in her honor. Because she, and we, believe that everyone who works hard and is striving to advance themselves deserves an opportunity to be rewarded for their efforts, we've framed this scholarship for graduating high school seniors of North Lawndale or East Garfield Park communities as a raffle with simple requirements to entry.

The 2024 Scholarships have been awarded. Please check back next year!
